Originating from Lazio,Spianata Romana is made from quite finely minced pork,seasoned cubes of fat and garlic and a nice amount of paprika and chilli  that is then encased and pressed for a week to give it its distinctive shape and name [ Spianata literally means flattened !]. A nice addition to your antipasti platter.
